As a studio, we strive to make sure our team members as well as dancers, and their families, are safe, respectful, and kind towards all others. We do not discriminate against race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, or genetic information.
Bullying: Elite Arts Dance Academy has a zero tolerance for BULLYING. If there is significant proof that a
dancer has been bullying or demeaning toward another student, they risk being dismissed from routines or
potentially being expelled from attend further classes/sessions with the academy.
However, parents and students need to understand that anything that happens outside of the academy and
not during class/session time we really do not have any control over. Issues need to be addressed between
the individuals first and foremost. If the issues carry over into class and begin affecting the lessons and
dynamics of the group than we will handle it and the involved students may be dismissed as mentioned above.
Language: Uplifting and wholesome language should be used in and around the academy always and at
performances or other events where dancers and their families are representing the academy’s name. Vulgar
or inappropriate language will not be tolerated. If any of our dancers or dancer’s family members do not
uphold appropriate conduct that person will be asked to leave.
Behavior: Likewise, as with appropriate language, dancers and their families should always maintain
appropriate behavior that represents the academy well. That means resolving issues in the best possible way
that avoids unnecessary drama or scenes. Speaking to another in kind uplifting and professional manners and
avoiding gossip or derogatory discussions of others at all cost. Students are expected to behave themselves in
a sportsman like, professional manner when representing the academy.
*No use of cell phones during classes. Except by Teachers and Student Teachers for music & rehearsal video
purposes.
Discipline:
Elite Arts Dance Academy uses the time out system.
Students who do not behave themselves during class time will be given a warning, if students fail to adhere to
this warning, they will be given a time out from class and excused from the room either momentarily or for
the remainder of the evening. A note will be sent home by one of the teachers so that the issue may be
addressed by a parent or legal guardian.
KEEPING GROUPS SMALL:
Elite Arts Dance Academy reserves the right to assign students in classes we know will best fit their skill level.
We reserve the right to, at any time, make schedule changes or to alter the class a student is assigned to. This In order to maintain
small groups and keep a minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 10-12 students per class.
Our intent in smaller group sizes will allow Better teacher-to-student interface. This is also to prevent anyone from being
overwhelmed or uncomfortable.
Female Dancers:
A Leotard with TIGHTS (Any color) is required for all Ballet/Jazz classes. Skirts or booty shorts are optional.
Stretchy fitted shirt with stretchy pants (KNEES MUST BE COVERED) is required for all Tap, Clogging and Hip
hop classes.
Male Dancers:
A fitted stretchy t-shirt (Any color) with Black leggings is required for all Ballet/Jazz classes.
Stretchy fitted shirt with stretchy pants (knees must be covered) is required for all Tap, Clogging and Hip hop
classes.
(Parents/legal guardians are responsible for obtaining the proper attire for their student/students.)
Shoes:
BALLET/JAZZ: Pink or Black Ballet shoes may be worn in class. However, for performances Pink is required for
female dancers and Black for male dancers.
TAP: Black or Tan Tap shoes may be worn in class. Generally Black will be worn for performances unless
informed otherwise for specific classes.
CLOGGING: Black Clogging shoes with Jingle or buck taps are required for Class and Performances.
HIP HOP: Jazz Shoes or Sneakers are allowed for class. Sneakers need to be comfortable and Clean!
Performance shoe requirements will be different for each level they will be emailed out with recital costume
information later in the season.
All Students are expected to wear the specific dance shoes, the style of dance requires. However, we
understand that it may take a few weeks to acquire specific shoes. In the meantime, clean socks will be
temporarily permitted to be worn in class.
HAIR:
All Students with long hair need to have it pulled up in a ponytail or bun for all classes.
All Students with hair to short to be pulled up need to have hair pinned out of their face for all classes.
Students who do not arrive to class in dress code may be asked to sit and watch rather than participate.
